East Asia, China, late Qing Dynasty, ca. 19th century CE. A pair of lovely bronze cloisonne vessels, each with a low, round profile, a wavy, irregular mouth, and a slightly raised disc foot. The interiors are undecorated while the exterior features a profusion of floral and vine-like motifs on a backdrop of brilliant deep cyan. Size of one (they are nearly identical): 11" W x 4.75" H (27.9 cm x 12.1 cm)

Provenance: private collection of the late Karming Wong, approximate date of acquisition: late 1970 to early 1980

  • Condition: Edges have slight bending to form with some small losses to cloisonnes/pigment there. The enamel also has some small pits on its surface on both vessels. Overall they are in nice condition.
