A beautiful original antique etching by German artist Otto Ferdinand Probst. The charming composition presents a detailed townscape of Rothenburg rendered in Probst's realist style. The title and artist's signature appear on lower edge in pencil. The multi-talented Otto Ferdinand Probst was a painter, graphic artist, architect, and professor. He studied fine arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw and architecture at the Technical University (Technische Universitat Munchen). Most of Probst's artworks were etchings of landscapes and town views like this example. Size (platemark): 9.875" L x 7.625" W (25.1 cm x 19.4 cm)
