Description:

Pre-Columbian, Mexico, Olmec culture, ca. 10th to 6th century BCE. An adorable terracotta sculpture of a seated naked child featuring a heart-shaped face, full-lipped open mouth, pointed nose, wide almond-shaped eyes with incised pupils, two large ears, and a concave forehead topped by a full head of hair. Positioned with both legs bent at the knee, his right out before him and his left to his side, the charming figure raises his left hand to his head, cupping behind his ear as though attempting to hear something, while his right bends at the elbow and rests on his bulbous belly next to an incised navel. A wonderful Olmec figure, replete with a characteristic plump body and baby face features. Size: 6.5" L x 4.5" W x 7.25" H (16.5 cm x 11.4 cm x 18.4 cm)
