Description:

Pre-Columbian, southern Mexico to Guatemala, Olmec culture, ca. 900 to 500 BCE. A hand-built pottery bowl with thick walls incised with abstract linear and crosshatched motifs. The squat bowl rests upon a planar base and features highly burnished walls decorated with brown pigment in hues of chocolate and espresso. The panel of incised motifs features four columnar projections beneath a broad rectangular area and is further embellished with a large 'X' on one side. Size: 4" W x 2.55" H (10.2 cm x 6.5 cm)
