Pre-Columbian, Southern Mexico to Guatemala, ca 1150 BCE. A rare and desirable jade drug spoon pendant, delicately carved from a beautiful piece of jade presenting blue-green hues with white inclusions. The spoon form emerges from a subtly concave, rectangular form that has been perforated with two suspension holes. A wonderful example of material culture used by the indigenous to snuff hallucinogenic ground seeds or plants during ritualistic practices. Custom stand. Size: pendant itself measures 2.25" W x 1.25" H (5.7 cm x 3.2 cm); 1.75" H (4.4 cm) on stand.
