Description:

Pre-Columbian, Mexico, Guerrero/Olmec, ca. 700 to 500 BCE. A fascinating greenstone figure, with string cut details, depicting a crouched human figure with rounded features and an incised pendant on its chest. Hands are in relief pressed against the upper chest. The head sports huge ears, small slits for the eyes and mouth, and two deep grooves on the forehead. This sculpture was made to be a small votive figure, probably to be buried with its owner. Size: 1.4" W x 3" H (3.6 cm x 7.6 cm); 4" H (10.2 cm) on included custom stand.
