The first four volumes of "Oeuvres Philosophiques de Descartes" by the 17th century French philosopher, mathematician, and writer Rene Descartes who is known as the Father of Modern Philosophy and as well as the inventor of Cartesian coordinates. Descartes was a champion of rationalism and deductive reasoning who worked in both French and Latin and was most famous for his dictum, "I think, therefore I am." In addition to this series, Descartes wrote numerous philosophical and mathematical works such as "Discourse on a Method", "The World", "Meditations on First Philosophy", and "Passions of the Soul".
