Description:

British Columbia to southern coastal Alaska, Haida, ca. 1920 to 1945. Two early and interesting objects from the Northwest Coast! First, a copper totem of a Thunderbird, wings outstretched with incised additional thunderbird on each. Reverse incised with "#20" and "HN." Thunderbird has been XRF tested and shows an almost pure (99.9%) level of copper with silver being the second most prevalent metal. Along with his copper pendant is a rare and amusing dice case made of carved walrus tusk in totem form. With separately carved eagle beak and incised and painted details. Below the eagle stands a large and ferocious bear holding a human within its claws. This totem is hollow with threaded lid in which 5 small die reside. Each die carved of bone with incised and painted dots. Yahtzee! Size of copper: 6.375" W x 5.25" H (16.2 cm x 13.3 cm). Size of dice container: 3" H (7.6 cm)

We guarantee these are not made of elephant ivory.
