Description:

Southeast Asia, Indonesia, Java, Neolithic period, ca. 4500 to 500 BCE. Three warm beige and orange chert stone blades, each pecked and polished to bear a broad cutting edge and rounded or straight butt end. While all are a handheld size, these could be hafted to a wood handle for greater leverage. Each has ancient chips and nicks from over the ages and use, but the original surfaces are highly polished and retouched in modern times. Size: 5.5" L x 2.25" W (14 cm x 5.7 cm)
