Western Europe, northern France, Oise department, Hardivillers, Neolithic period, ca. 7000 to 2000 BCE. A trio of chert hand axes or scrapers, knapped stone technology that marked Neolithic life in northwestern Europe, alongside farming, pottery, and longhouses. Perhaps used in a variety of tasks -butchering and skinning game, digging in soil, cutting trees and other plant matter. Size: 5" L x 2.5" W (12.7 cm x 6.4 cm)
