Ancient Near East, Mesopotamia, Neo-Babylonian Empire, ca. late 7th to late 6th century BCE. A hand-carved stone stamp seal, of brown hue and ovoid form. The stamp bears an abstract fish-like creature with a scaled body on the top - above the drilled suspension hole - and below is inscribed an abstract recumbent mammal, perhaps a horse or a jackal, below a radiant sun. Size: 0.85" L x 0.46" W x 0.67" H (2.2 cm x 1.2 cm x 1.7 cm)

Provenance: private Corpus Christi, Texas, USA estate collection, acquired 1960s to 1970s
