Description:

Ancient Near East, Mesopotamia, Babylon, Neo-Babylonian Period, ca. mid-1st millennium BCE. A lovely stamp seal bead carved from chalcedony quartz with a narrow suspension tube drilled through the upper body. Inscribed on the stamp face is a dignified male, wearing a billowing sash around his waist and a pronged crown atop his bearded head, who holds out his arms in a gesture of offering. In front of the figure is a narrow altar, and above his head is a horizontal crescent moon. Custom impression included. Size: 0.8" W x 1" H (2 cm x 2.5 cm)
