Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A fine collection of approximately 100 shell, stone, and pottery beads strung in modern times as a necklace. The petite white shells are carved into discoidal shapes and coalesce at the center with 4 carinated stone beads and a large pottery spindle whorl pendant. Size (strand doubled): 24" L (61 cm); (pendant bead): 1.3" L x 1" W (3.3 cm x 2.5 cm)

Provenance: private Fayetteville, Arkansas, USA collection; ex-Dr. David Harner collection, Springdale, Arkansas, USA, acquired between the 1950s and 1960s
