Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 4th century CE. A necklace of gorgeous and wearable form constructed with 15 colorful glass beads in the center as well as dozens of petite sapphires lining the strands. Many of the glass beads exhibit rainbow-hued iridescence that nicely complements the cobalt and azure hues of the sapphires. Size (necklace): 26.5" L (67.3 cm); (largest bead): 0.9" W x 0.75" H (2.3 cm x 1.9 cm)

Small chips and light abrasions to some glass beads, with light earthen deposits, otherwise most are intact and very good. Great iridescence on some glass beads.
