Ancient Near East and Central Asia, Sumer and Bactria, ca. 3rd to 2nd millennium BCE. A gorgeous and wearable necklace formed with dozens of faience and stone beads in hues of crimson, slate, jet-black, and chalky-white. Displayed in the center of the composition are five hand-carved Bactrian banded agate pendants in the forms of a small tooth, two flies, a droplet, and a tapered alabastron. Strung in modern times and capped with a loop and lobster clasp combo, this is a wearable and stylish example for any occasion! Size (necklace): 22.5" L (57.2 cm); size of largest bead (alabastron pendant): 0.4" W x 1.2" H (1 cm x 3 cm).

Provenance: The Dere Family Collection, New York, USA, assembled 1970's-2000's; ex-Madame Frances Artuner Collection, Belgium, acquired in 1960's
