United States, ca. 20th to 21st century CE. A beaded multistrand necklace made by Mary and Doug Hancock known for creating Native American Southwestern and ancient Egyptian inspired jewelry. The cotton strands are strung with bone pipe beads, painted pottery, brass, silver, bone, and vintage class and pottery animal fetish beads - likely Native American Pueblo or northern Mexican in origin. The opaque mint-green glass beads are from vaseline or uranium glass from the early 20th century, and the large pendant and figure charm are sterling silver. Doug Hancock is a former archaeologist, and his wife Mary is a designer and artist, they collaborate using an assortment of materials from many cultures as well as vintage beads to make unique jewelry.   • Condition: Pre-owned or vintage condition with some wear to the cotton cord threads. Beads are vintage and antique, with chips and fading to painted and pottery beads. Patina and toning to silver. Wearable and overall good condition. Artist names are inscribed on bead closure. Uranium beads are considered safe to wear.
