Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A petite and gorgeous free-blown glass bottle of a near-miniature form. Made from near-opaque glass of a pale turquoise hue, the globular vessel stands upon a small conical foot and has a slightly-indented shoulder, a tubular neck, and a sloping rim with an in-folded lip. Thick layers of rainbow-hued iridescence provide for an elegant presentation. Used for storing small amounts of precious scented oils or unguents, this is a wonderful example of fine Roman glass! Custom lucite display stand for photography purposes only. Size: 1.625" W x 3.25" H (4.1 cm x 8.3 cm).
