Corinth, Greece, 6th century BCE. At the time when Greek Attic pottery was being created in Athens, the potters and painters of Corinth were in high gear producing exquisite, albeit usually smaller wares. This stunning little chalice features very traditional Corinthian iconography of three winged sirens flying left, flowers and patterns between. Each is done in black-figure with added red and off-white highlights. A lovely cup! Size: 3.375" W x 3.5" H (8.6 cm x 8.9 cm)
