Pre-Columbian, South Coast Peru, Nazca, ca. 250 BCE to 125 CE. A lovely, thin-walled earthenware bowl with gracefully flared out walls and round bottom, with an impressive slip painted decorative program depicting an abstract landscape pattern, perhaps inspired by textile designs of the ancient Peruvians, comprised of red-orange hills and chocolate brown trees against a white background on the outer walls and quadrants of white and chocolate brown partitioned by an orange cross adorning the rounded bottom. Size: 6-5/16" (16 cm) in diameter x 2-3/8"H (6 cm).

Provenance: Ex-private Crested Butte, CO collection, acquired in 1987.
