Description:

Pre-Columbian, Peru, Nazca, ca. 100 to 300 CE. A hand-built pottery kero (also quero) presenting gorgeous abstract zoomorphic motifs across the elongated piriform body. The vessel features a round but stable base, smooth walls that taper gradually to form a gently flared rim, and a deep basin. The exterior surfaces bear an intriguing program of abstract, two-headed creatures with serpentine tongues, tendril-like protrusions, and a pair of disembodied legs, all beneath a register of interlocking step motifs. Size: 4.5" W x 7" H (11.4 cm x 17.8 cm)

This piece has been tested using thermoluminescence (TL) analysis and has been found to be ancient and of the period stated. A full report will accompany purchase.
