Pre-Columbian, Peru, South Coast, Nazca, ca. 250 BCE -125 CE. This exquisitely built flared bowl boasts a striking decorative program. Four squares filled with concentric squares are finely painted in chocolate brown slip on white ground. Between these are trios of faces that form four vertical columns, also painted in deep brown slip on white ground.
