Description:

Pre-Columbian, South Coast Peru, early Nazca, ca. 205 BCE to 125 CE. A hollow-made, highly-burnished pottery vessel with a rounded base, a globular body with a rounded shoulder, a narrow neck, and a squat, projecting spout. Raised details like almond eyes, a slender nose, and a gaping mouth comprise the head which composes the spout, with a pair of raised hands along the obverse face, and painted legs are crossed along the lower body beneath a rectangular waist band. The painted details are presented in black, red, brown, and cream hues atop a beige ground. Lucite display stand for photography purposes only. Size: 3.6" W x 5.5" H (9.1 cm x 14 cm).
