Description:

Pre-Columbian, South Coast Peru, Nazca, ca. 125 to 250 CE. Are two heads are better than one? Perhaps, given the fabulous visages depicted on this vessel. Both have nearly identical faces with large eyes, pointy protruding noses, and they share the same black coiffure adorned with white net motifs and a carved red ovoid mark on their foreheads. They depart in that one possesses a black complexion and a downturned mouth in relief, while the other presents red skin and a straight carved grimace. Size: 4.75" in diameter x 5.375" H (12.1 cm x 13.7 cm)
