Description:

Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, Ixtlan del Rio, ca. 100 BCE to 250 CE. Terracotta shaft tomb female figure in red and cream finish with characteristically elongated head, prominent nose, wide torso, and attenuated limbs. In addition to the beautiful painted hues, not to mention the detailing which is a signature of the Ixtlan del Rio stylings, the figure is adorned with a large nose ring, round bichrome ear ornaments, and a skirt. We just love her standing pose, so alert and poised for whatever the moment will bring! Size: 4"W (10.16 cm) x 6"H (15.24 cm). Provenance: Ex-private Houston, TX collection acquired at auction or local gallery between 1982 and 1994. All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back. A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany all winning bids. #101518

  • Condition: Intact with expected surface wear. Detailing on skirt and surface is faint, but there.
