Description:

Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A hand-built pottery vessel in the form of a rotund zoomorphic figure standing atop a quartet of conical legs. The rounded body has a squat spout with two pierced suspension lugs protruding from the top and boasts an abstract animal head on the front with impressed eyes, nubbin ears, and a slender mouth. A fine example covered in orange-red slip. Size: 3.375" W x 3.9" H (8.6 cm x 9.9 cm).
