Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A hand-built standing female terracotta figure painted in a polychrome palette of red, cream, and black. Her face modeled in the style known as "sheep face" presents an angular form with a protruding nose. Dressed to impress, she dons a scalloped headband, large ear ornaments, a nose ring, a skirt, and signs of black details here and there. A wonderful example from this shaft tomb culture.
