Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A hollow-built and highly burnished pottery female figure presenting in a seated pose atop conical legs. Her broad body features a pair of perky breasts, slender arms placed atop her hips, and black stripes forming a large V-shaped motif beneath a cream-hued 'beaded' necklace. Her elongated head exhibits tab-shaped ears, impressed coffee-bean-shaped eyes, a prominent nose, and full lips, all beneath a trapezoidal coiffure with a central vent hole. Size: 4.75" W x 7.125" H (12.1 cm x 18.1 cm)
