Description:

Pre-Columbian, Western Mexico, Nayarit, ca. 200 BCE to 200 CE. A lovely round bowl with vertical walls in a polychrome color scheme comprised of red, orange, and black pigments; the repeated black lines on the underside intended to represent wood grain; the interior further adorned with a three-petaled flower surrounded by thin, black bands with periodic black eyelash-like motifs. Quite attractive and fascinating! Size: 7-3/4" in diameter x 2-3/4" (19.7 x 7 cm).
