Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, ca. 250 BCE to 250 CE. A figural vessel with a stylized head upon a stirrup handle and spherical body, the opening set into the top of the flared head. Elaborate burials within shaft tombs enshrined works of art such as this piece: skeletons arrayed radially with their feet positioned inward, and pottery offerings placed alongside. Size: 8" Diameter x 12.5" H (20.3 cm x 31.8 cm)
