Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A hand-built and highly burnished pottery jar with a stylized human head that doubles as the vessel's neck. Russet pigment decorates the lower body while creamy yellow and white pigment creates the skin and vestments. Thick arms raise out from the shoulder to create a three-dimensional presentation. Size: 5.125" L x 5.4" W x 5.7" H (13 cm x 13.7 cm x 14.5 cm)
