Description:

Pre-Columbian, Western Mexico, Nayarit, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A lovely terracotta standing figure of a female with stable arched feet, a cream-colored skirt with orange painted cross hatch patterns, a wide chest with perky breasts, rounded shoulders with separated arms and ringed arm bands, and a thick neck with a painted bead pectoral. Her visage features black scarification lines, disc-shaped eyes, a very prominent nose with a small nose ring, flaring ears with detailed ear spools and stylized ear canals, and a tall brow with a thin headband. Painted in hues of burgundy, beige, cream, black, and orange, this is a wonderful figurative example from this ancient shaft tomb culture. Size: 4.125" W x 8" H (10.5 cm x 20.3 cm)
