Description:

Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A hand-built pottery effigy of a male warrior seated with bent legs flanking his delineated genitalia. The nude man holds a striped club in his right hand while it leans against the corresponding shoulder, and grasps a petite olla in his left hand. He dons trios of bangles on his biceps, earring clusters on both ears, and a thick nose ring on his septum. His face features impressed ovoid eyes, a prominent nose, and a centrally parted coiffure with incised striations that cascade down to the nape of his neck. Remains of white pigment adorn his face and upper body in a manner consistent with ritual tattooing. Size: 3.8" W x 8.7" H (9.7 cm x 22.1 cm)
