Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, Ixtlan Del Rio type, Protoclassic Period, ca. 100 BCE to 250 CE. A hand-built pottery female figure in a seated pose while holding a petite olla in one arm. Covering the entire figure is a gorgeous polychrome motif of geometric, linear, stepped, and abstract motifs, her face exhibiting some of the most elaborate decorations we have seen! Everything from her base to her back and headband is enveloped with the dazzling artistry! Size: 7.3" W x 9.625" H (18.5 cm x 24.4 cm)
