Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, Chinesco type D, Protoclassic Period, ca. 100 BCE to 250 CE. A hand-built Chinesco type D figure seated while holding one hand up to the mouth. The figure bears a massive head with a tall forehead and multiple earrings, and the highly burnished surfaces are decorated with red pigment. Size: 3.3" W x 6.25" H (8.4 cm x 15.9 cm)
