Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, Chinesco, Type C, Protoclassic Period, ca. 100 BCE to 250 CE. A hollow-built pottery rattle figure depicting a woman standing atop petite feet and delineated legs. She exhibits wide hips, arms placed upon her slender waist, and a generous neckline. Her enlarged head features lattice patterns within large red circles, a conical nose adorned with a septum ring, a narrow mouth, and recessed eyes, all beneath an incised hairline. Size: 4.5" W x 8.3" H (11.4 cm x 21.1 cm); 8.75" H (22.2 cm) on included custom stand.
