Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, Chinesco type, Protoclassic Period, ca. 100 BCE to 250 CE. A hand-built pottery Chinesco figure, so called because early collectors believed the form of these figures resembled some styles of Chinese art. Intricate linear motifs in red, black, and white course across the figure and create a mesmerizing presentation. Size: 2.875" W x 6.4" H (7.3 cm x 16.3 cm); 6.875" H (17.5 cm) on included custom stand.
