Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, Chinesco, ca. 200 BCE to 100 CE. Bichrome seated figure in the Chinesco style, presenting a typical angular face with slit eyes, pointy nose, and toothy grin, adorned with heart-shaped red face paint and crested headdress with earflaps. She sits with crossed arms upon upraised knees, her legs with voluptuous thighs and buttocks indicative of fertility. Beautiful polychrome finish of red and cream with striated black back/arm tattoos and outlines. Size: 3.75" W x 5" H (9.5 cm x 12.7 cm)
