Description:

**Originally Listed At $500**

Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, Chinesco, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A hand-built pottery female figure seated upon bent legs and a wide posterior. The highly-burnished figure has a slightly hunched posture with draped arms flanking pendulous breasts below rounded shoulders. Her bulbous head projects outwards from a thick, collar-adorned neck and bears coffee-bean-shaped eyes, a conical nose, full lips, and perky ears, all beneath a rounded brow line with an incised headband. Covered in a red-brown slip, this is an intriguing example from ancient West Mexico! Size: 1.625" W x 4.55" H (4.1 cm x 11.6 cm).
