Native American, Western United States, Plains Tribes, Dakota (Sioux) tribe, ca. late 20th century CE. A wearable necklace comprised of 92.78% to 93.5% silver chain links as well as a 93.9% silver kachina pendant. Four teardrop pendants are inlaid with sizable pieces of turquoise while the obverse of the kachina pendant features a turquoise skirt, turquoise eyes, and red coral belt ornaments. Behind the kachina pendant is stamped, "Sterling | Thomas Byrd | Red Mesa." Size (necklace): 25.25" L (64.1 cm); (pendant): 2.75" W x 4.375" H (7 cm x 11.1 cm); silver quality: 92.78% to 93.9%; total weight: 113.7 grams
