**First Time At Auction**

Native American, Western United States, Plains tribes, likely Lakota (Sioux), ca. late 19th to mid-20th century CE. A pair of bags, the larger is a quiver, and the other might be a pipe bag. The quiver is made from supple leather and red felt over a stiff leather interior, and a lengthy fringe decorates the sides. The smaller bag might be a storage pouch for a pipe or other valuables and has beadwork and fringe decorating the hide. This bag appears to be older and perhaps dates to the 1890s or 1900s. Size of quiver: 23" L x 5" W (58.4 cm x 12.7 cm)

  • Condition: Pipebag has some losses to beadwork along the periphery, but most is intact. Hide is stiff with age, but overall good condition. The quiver has some discoloration to the hide and some tears to fringe, otherwise good condition.
