**First Time At Auction**
Native American, Western United States, Plains Tribes, ca. mid to late 20th century CE. A decorative spear made from wood with a stone blade tip, and adorned with beading, fur, feathers, and red wool cloth. The fur is probably from bison, the feathers are turkey, and the entire wood shaft is covered in beadwork, the seed beads strung on threads and wrapped tightly around. Similar spears were used for ceremony, dance, or powwows, but it is unknown if this spear was ever used for such a purpose or just as a sale item. Size: 83" L x 2" W (210.8 cm x 5.1 cm)

- Condition: Fraying to threads and losses to beading along the bottom of shaft, with some unraveling to this area as well. A few other losses to beading along the shaft. Fading and discoloration to red cloth. Fur has some dust residue clinging to hairs, feathers have some frayed ends. Blade is intact and tightly attached.
