Description:

Native American, Eastern United States, Eastern Woodland, Archaic to Woodland period, ca. 5000 BCE to 1000 CE. This is a fine hand pecked stone of a nearly spherical shape with shallower and rough grooves pecked into the surface. One groove encircles the center, and a perpendicular grove across one end, for facilitating hafting to a wood pole or handle. This head may have functioned as a warclub rather than a utilitarian tool. Size: 4" L x 3.25" W (10.2 cm x 8.3 cm)
