Description:

Native American, Southwest United States, Ancestral Puebloan (Anasazi), ca. 1200 to 1400 CE. A sizable pottery bowl, formed via the coil-and-scrape technique, that is decorated with elaborate black-painted motifs. Around the basin are zigzagging bands with diagonal stripes beneath, and the center features an intricate X-shaped motif. Size: 10.25" L x 9.8" W x 4.25" H (26 cm x 24.9 cm x 10.8 cm)

  • Condition: Repaired as shown with chipping and light adhesive residue along break lines. Abrasions and chips to surfaces, with fading to painted motifs within basin, and areas of fire-darkening along the exterior. Nice preservation to original motifs with no overpainting. Previous inventory labels beneath base.
