Description:

Ancient Greece, Mycenaean Period, Late Helladic II to Late Helladic IIIB period, ca. 1450 to 1200 BCE. An attractive, wheel-thrown pottery jar with a carinated circular body resting atop a squat, slightly flared foot. The gently sloped shoulder is surmounted by a stirrup-shaped handle centered with a false spout, and a functioning, spindle-shaped spout protrudes from the front. Several bands of dark-brown pigment course across the cream-hued ground and create a lovely bi-chrome presentation. Size: 4.5" Diameter x 4.4" H (11.4 cm x 11.2 cm)
