Description:

Roman, late Imperial Period, ca. 3rd to 4th century CE. A free-blown cup atop a stemmed base, all exhibiting verdant yellow-green hues. The deep basin is surrounded by a rounded lip for increased comfort while drinking, and the entire vessel rests upon a thick and sturdy foot. Size: 3" W x 3.2" H (7.6 cm x 8.1 cm)

Exhibited in "Ancient Glass: Selections from the Richard Brockway Collection" at the Hallie Ford Museum of Art at Willamette University, Salem from March 10 to May 19, 2007 and "Glass of the Ancient World" at the Vero Beach Museum of Art, Florida from October 11 to December 28, 2008.
