Description:

Pre-Columbian, North Coast of Peru, Moche, ca. 600 to 800 CE. A mold-formed pottery figural trumpet mold depicting a regal figure standing atop broad feet while holding a spear and shield in one hand as well as a ritual kero in the other. The figure dons a tall, conical headdress with a flower-adorned frontlet that sits low on his brow, and faint remains of orange and red pigment allude to how colorful this figure was at one time. The two-part trumpet mold has been fused together from the inside, making 1 contiguous figure. Size: 2.5" L x 3.5" W x 7.4" H (6.4 cm x 8.9 cm x 18.8 cm)

This piece has been tested using thermoluminescence (TL) analysis and has been found to be ancient and of the period stated. A full printed and bound report will accompany the item upon purchase.
