Description:

Pre-Columbian, North Coast of Peru, Moche, ca. 300 to 800 CE. A lustrous silver-copper foil roundel bearing a series of petite hummingbirds decorating the surfaces. The repousse creatures are each situated within the spiral-tipped tendrils emanating from the center of the accessory. The verso still retains much of the original patina. Size: 3.29" W (8.4 cm); silver quality: 51.21%; weight: 11.3 grams.

  • Condition: Repair to small area of rim, with petite chips and light adhesive residue along break lines. Minor abrasions and softening to some repousse details, otherwise in great condition. Nice luster on obverse, and great patina on verso.
