Description:

Pre-Columbian, North Coast of Peru, Moche, ca. 300 to 800 CE. A hand-built and highly burnished pottery vessel depicting a finely detailed head of a male, perhaps a warrior or an elite. The cream-painted face is tattooed with red pigment in linear and geometric motifs while lengthy cylindrical earplugs project from the front of his ears. A tall, flared spout on top enables the contents to be easily poured or stored. Size: 5" L x 5.5" W x 8.1" H (12.7 cm x 14 cm x 20.6 cm)
