Pre-Columbian, Northern Peru, Moche, Phase III to IV, ca. 400 to 600 CE. Nicely executed pottery stirrup vessel decorated with variant of the Moche God of the Underworld Ai Apec on each side in the guise of a demon fish. His body shows scaley sides, large dorsal and tail fins, avian headdress with additional fish and shells in the field, birds atop. Size: 6" W x 10.25" H (15.2 cm x 26 cm)

This piece has been tested using thermoluminescence (TL) analysis and has been found to be ancient and of the period stated. A full report will accompany purchase.
