Description:

Pre-Columbian, Northern Peru, Moche IV, Ca 500 to 600 CE. Another Moche masterpiece, this time one that certainly should convince kids to stay away from drugs! Pottery mold-made stirrup jar depicting a shaman transforming into an iguana, all from the effects of powerful hallucinogenic drugs. His face has already completed the transformation save his ears sporting large earspools, hands clasped in prayer. An amazing vessel! 10" H.
